Wet Plate Workshop

Learn the hands-on technique of making alluring wet-plate images from scratch in this individualized, one-on-one tutorial, hosted here at LundPhotographics in mid-coast Maine. This process based workshop is designed to take the mystery out of collodion and provide you with a solid understanding of how collodion works and why it does what it does. Learn how to mix your own chemistry from scratch and use this to coat, sensitize, and process plates. As a quick outline, we'll discuss and practice:

Darkroom setup
Chemical handling and storage
Lab safety
The different components of collodion and how they interact
Lenses, light, and exposure
Practical field camera use
Plate holders
Making test strips
Processing plates
Light metering
Trouble shooting common problems

This one day tutorial/workshop is available on either weekday or weekend. Due to it's individualized nature, the content can be taylored to your specific needs. Contact us for additional information.
