These very popular tanks are designed for taking chemistry "on the road". This new design incorporates many improvements over the original model. It features a single piece lid with a polyethylene foam gasket, adjustable stainless steel plate hangers, and stainless steel draw latches to minimize the likelihood of spills while traveling from location to location. A collapsable, hinged support holds the tank at a convenient angle for loading and unloading plates, yet folds flat against the tank for storage and travel. Silver tanks are light tight and require no external dark boxes. The fixer tanks are identical in construction with the exception of having a clear front panel.
These dip tanks are formed of clear 1/8 inch acrylic. The tank's one piece wall minimizes the number of glue joints, producing a strong, reliable tank. The lid features a rubber gasket which minimizes evaporation of the contents if the tank is stored for any length of time, and reduces the chance of spills while moving the tank from place to place.
Wow! I'm excited about this! This is the best tin typing material I've ever seen. This aluminum is finished on both sides with gloss black on one side and gloss white on the other. The Black (printing) side is covered with a protective peel away plastic sheet that leaves no residue. Just peel and go! What could be simpler? This plate holder is constructed of acetal plastic, assembled with stainless steel screws, and won't corrode when used with wet plates. When open, the dark slide stops rest in recessed grooves to avoid obstructing the plate during exposure. The plate is held by the corners only, allowing maximum image area for each plate. The back is hinged, and is held in place by spring clips when closed. These have been built as a conversion to fit dry plate field cameras.
This is a modification made to standard sheet film holders that will allow you shoot wet plate in your existing view camera. You provide the film holder, we do the modification.
